Johor Sultan raises further his stake in 7-Eleven


A few 24-hour convenient stores like 7-Eleven and KIOSK have served city folks well around the clock.

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, who early last week emerged as a substantial shareholder in 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd, has further raised his stake in the company.

According to filings with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, he has acquired an additional 2.92 million shares in the country’s largest convenience store chain, boosting his direct interest to 8.856%.

The notices said Sultan Ibrahim acquired 1 million shares last Friday, 983,800 shares on Monday and 938,800 shares on Tuesday.

Based on Wednesday’s closing price of RM1.42 per share, his entire stake has a market value of RM139.64mil. The latest shares he secured are worth RM4.15mil.
