Merdeka PNB 118 mega-tower development on track

KUALA LUMPUR- Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Wahid Omar launches 2015 Millenium Development Goals Report at Putra Hall, B1, Putrajaya International Convention Centre at 0900 (0100 GMT)

KUALA LUMPUR: PNB group chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar says the construction of its Merdeka PNB 118 mega-tower is progressing well.

He said the sub-structure work for the tower on the former Merdeka Stadium site is completed.

By next year, the building structure of the mega tower which is constructed by a UEM-Samsung joint venture will be visibly seen

The RM5bil 118-storey tower is pegged to be the fifth tallest building in the world.

Wahid said PNB group of companies will occupy 60 floors of the tower, 20 floors are for hotel and shopping mall while the remaining floors will be open for commercial tenants.

“Given the uniqueness of this tower, we believe there will be demand for such high quality commercial space that will later create enough rental income for PNB Group,” he said at a luncheon talk organised by Malaysian Press Institute and PNB today (Tuesday).
