SEB awards RM3bil job to China JV firm

KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) has awarded a RM3bil contract for the Baleh hydroelectric dam project’s main civil works package to a joint venture (JV) between China’s Gezhouba Group Co Ltd and Untang Jaya Sdn Bhd.

Construction and engineering company Gezhouba has a 70% stake in the JV, while Baleh-based Class A contractor Untang Jaya holds the remaining 30%.
