KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Sime Darby, Paramount Corporation, Kerjaya Prospek, Sunway Bhd and Media Prima to be among the stocks which could see trading interest on Wednesday after their corporate announcements.
It said Sime Darby as it plans to sell its 40% stake in Seriemas Development Sdn Bhd to Permodalan nasional Bhd for RM625mil cash.
As for Paramount Corp, it is selling its private and international schools, Sekolah Sri KDU and Sri KDU International School, for RM165mil.
Wah Seong secured a RM103.6mil contract from Siemens SAS to provide engineering, design, supply and fabrication services in Kazakhstan.
JF Apex Research pointed out Kerjaya Prospek was awarded a sub-construction job in Penang worth RM45.95mil from China Communications Construction Company at Seri Tanjung Pinang (STP) Phase 2B in Penang.
Sunway Bhd is buying two freehold land plots from Jaks Resources for RM230.6mil.
Media Prima and Hong Leong Industries' associate company Malaysian Newsprint Industries Sdn Bhd has initiated creditors' voluntary winding up proceedings.
Overnight on Wall Street, US markets closed higher as the Dow extended its record high after quarterly earnings exceeded expectations.
Earlier, European stocks also advanced led by oil and gas counters due to better-than-expected corporate results and improved manufacturing data in the Euro zone.
At Bursa, the KLCI gained 5.10 points to 1,765.13.
“Following the bullish performance in the US and Europe, the KLCI could extend its rebound towards the resistance of 1,770,” it said.
