KUALA LUMPUR: MMC Corp Bhd’s order book remains robust at RM15bil, enough to keep it busy for the next five years.
Group managing director Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh said the group’s construction segment was strong with a few infrastructure projects in the pipeline.
“We have Mass Rapid Transit 2 (MRT2). Hopefully, we will get the MRT3, which will keep us busy for the next 10 years.
“We are currently working on our water project and hope to get the second phase of the Langat 2 project. Then, we are good for the next five years for our construction segment,” he told reporters on the sidelines of Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur 2017 in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Che Khalib said the group, while aiming to boost the value of its ports, had no urgency over their listings.
MMC was looking to list the ports by end-2018 or in 2019, he said.
He added that the company was working with a Japanese consortium to provide systems solutions for the high-speed rail that the group was bidding for.
“The Government is also exploring the possibility of having a project delivery partner (PDP). Our MRT project has proven on the effectiveness of PDP in ensuring the projects are complete as scheduled,” he added.
Meanwhile, Che Khalib said the East Coast Rail Link would further complement its ports, rather than compete against it. - Bernama
