MCMC probing cyber attacks on online trading platforms

Malaysia ranks third in terms of protecting itself against cyber attacks, ahead of more advanced nations.

Last month, it was reported that Japanese Forex broker Kabu.com Securities, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc also faced disruption following a DDoS attack.

The cyber attack targeted the website of the company, which became unavailable for about half an hour.

The company later confirmed that the cause for the abnormal traffic was a cyber attack.

Earlier, Canadian online trading firm Questrade also reported a DDoS attack.

The company said it was not a ‘hack’ and no personal information had been compromised.
