KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Energy, Asia Bioenergy Technologies, Sinmah Capital and Ire-Tex are among the stocks to watch on Friday, says JF Apex Research.
It said Sapura Energy has won contracts worth US$205.96mil to undertake engineering, procurement, construction and installations.
Asia Bioenergy Technologies’s unit Asiabio Petroleum Sdn Bhd has secured a 30-month subcontract worth RM220mil from Tenisha Construction Sdn Bhd to undertake the project within the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex
As for Sinmah Capital, it has formed a 70:30 joint venture with Encorp Bhd's unit Encorp Bukit Katil Sdn Bhd to carry out a mixed development project in Bukit Katil, Melaka.
JF Apex Research pointed out Ire-Tex has received a special notice from its largest shareholder Elite Cosmo Group Ltd and Tan Yeang Tze to remove four directors from the company and to appoint two new directors.
On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 8.84 points, or 0.04%, to 21,182.53, the S&P 500 gained 0.65 points, or 0.03%, to 2,433.79 after ex-FBI director James Comey's testimony brought little damage to President Donald Trump.
The Nasdaq Composite posted a record closing high, up 24.38 points, or 0.39%, to 6,321.76. boosted by gains in Nvidia and Yahoo.
However, the S&P 500 futures opened slightly lower for the overnight session after exit polls showed there was a likelihood for a hung British Parliament, Reuters reported.
European stocks were mixed after ECB kept interest rates unchanged and the UK started its general election. According to an exit poll, Theresa May's Conservative party could lose majority in the UK Parliament.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI ended flat after shedding 0.35 of a point to 1,785.57.
Following the mixed performance in the US and Europe, the KLCI could continue to hover below the immediate resistance of 1,800.
