KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s (MBM) authorised dealer partner, Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd (Hap Seng), has invested RM53mil in Hap Seng Kuching Autohaus, the first Mercedes-Benz integrated one-stop centre in East Malaysia.

In a statement on Wednesday, MBM said the one-stop centre, with a built-up area of 1.83ha, catered for sale of passenger cars and commercial vehicles, and provided after-sales services.

“A full-fledged 3S (sales, service and spare-parts) centre, the outlet is managed by 40 personnel and can accommodate 510 vehicle services a month,” it said.

It added that Hap Seng had to date invested RM237mil in enriching its customer service nationwide.

Hap Seng group chief operating officer Harald Behrend, who is also Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhd chief executive officer (CEO), said the group currently had eight passenger car dealerships and seven commercial vehicle outlets nationwide.

Meanwhile, MBM president and CEO Dr Claus Weidner said Sarawak was the company’s fourth largest market in Malaysia after the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang for commercial vehicles. - Bernama
