Bintai Kinden’s subsidiary lands RM75mil contract in Myanmar

KUALA LUMPUR: Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd’s indirect subsidiary Bintai Kindenko Myanmar Co Ltd has clinched a US$17.5mil (RM74.69mil) sub-contract to carry out works for a luxury residential development project in Yangon, Myanmar.

The mechanical and electrical engineering services provider told Bursa Malaysia that the unit of its 69.8% owned subsidiary Bintai Kindenko Pte Ltd had on May 28 accepted a letter of award from Soilbuild (Myanmar) Co Ltd to undertake the works for 26½ Somerset Serviced Apartment and 68 Residence condominium at Kabar Aye Pagoda Road.

The job involves the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installation, air-conditioning and mechanical installation, and fire protection installation works.

The subcontract work is estimated to be completed by July next year.

Bintai Kinden said no major risk was foreseeable on the contract except for currency risk and it was a non-renewable construction contract with fixed contract period.
