Bursa Malaysia adds TA Securities to its Islamic POs

Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Tajuddin Atan said the higher earnings in the 9 months were due to the resilient performance of the Securities Market which was supported by continued growth in the Derivatives Market and Islamic Capital Market.

KUALA LUMPUR: – Bursa Malaysia Bhd has added TA Securities Holdings Bhd to its Islamic participating organisations (POs) list, making it the 11th stockbroking house and Islamic PO partnering with Bursa Malaysia-i.

“We hope that with the support from our brokers, we will be able to provide a conducive marketplace for the Shariah investing community which will, in turn, continue to spur the growth and vibrancy of the Islamic capital market domestically and regionally,” Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan said in a statement.

TA Enterprise Bhd managing director and CEO Datin Alicia Tiah said the group was happy to obtain the approval to establish an Islamic stockbroking window and be part of Bursa Malaysia-i.

“Certainly, this will complement and broaden our product offerings to suit diverse investors with varying needs and preferences. Most importantly, it provides an option or flexibility for our clients, especially Muslims, to invest/trade freely in financial products that are in compliance with the Shariah principles.

“We will strive to broaden the range of Islamic services that we offer and contribute positively to the Malaysian Islamic capital market,” Tiah said.

With the addition of TA Securities, there are 11 Islamic POs carrying out Islamic stockbroking services, of which one is on a full-fledged basis (BIMB Securities) and the other 10 are on a ‘window’ basis. The following is the list of the Islamic POs:
