Trading ideas: IJM Corp, Maybank, PPB and Sunway Construction


KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects IJM Corp, Maybank, PPB and Sunway Construction to be among the stocks to watch after they posted stronger financial results.

Also seeing improved results were Eversendai, Kerjaya Prospek and TDM. Axiata posted a turnaround in its financial results from a quarter ago.

Meanwhile, Perwaja has failed in its appeal against its delisting on Bursa Malaysia and will consequently be delisted on May 30.

Malaysia Steel Works is planning a one-for-five bonus issue, alongside a private placement to raise about RM23.96mil to repay its credit facilities.

Willowglen MSC has bagged two jobs in Singapore totalling RM19.09mil. 

Overnight on Wall Street, US markets closed higher with the S&P and Nasdaq hitting record highs after being lifted by tech counters. 

Earlier, European stocks ended slightly lower as oil prices declined following Opec's decision to extend its production cuts. 
 
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI closed 2.95 points higher at 1,773.96 after coming off an intra-day high of 1,782.54. 

“Following the mixed performance in the US and Europe, the KLCI is expected to remain directionless and hover below the resistance of 1,785,” it said.
