Axiata returns to the black with net profit of RM239mil


PETALING JAYA: Regional telecommunications firm Axiata Group Bhd saw a turnaround in the company’s fortunes, posting a net profit of RM239mil for the first quarter ended March 31 from the net loss of RM309mil in the preceding quarter ended Dec 31, 2016.

The turnaround was due to improved performance from operating companies and greater cost efficiencies.
