ETCM extends Nissan vehicle recall over Takata airbag inflator issue

KUALA LUMPUR: Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) and Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis Centre (TCEAS) have extended the recall campaign for the Nissan Frontier, Sentra and X-Trail, to replace Takata airbag inflators.

It involves 52,707 Nissan vehicles.

In a statement on Friday, the company said this was subsequent to the announcement made by ETCM on a similar campaign run in June 2015 and August 2016 respectively.

However, the Takata recall does not affect the New Nissan X-trail launched in January 2015, as well as all other Nissan models.

TCEAS will notify affected customers directly and by letter. On receiving it, they are advised to call the nearest TCEAS outlet for an appointment.
