CIMB clarifies

In reference to the article entitled “Banks able to pay higher dividends” which had appeared in StarBiz yesterday, it has been pointed out that the dividend payout ratio of CIMB Bank Bhd was 65% in 2016. The dividend payout ratio of 49.5% that was reported in the article was that of CIMB Group Holdings Bhd, the listed banking group.

CIMB Group Holdings has clarified that the comparison of the dividend payout ratio among listed banking groups was not accurate, as some are listed as banking groups and others are listed as banking entities.
