KLCI joins Asian markets rally, ringgit climbs


KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia joined in the rally on the key Asian markets on Tuesday as certainty in the run-up to the French presidential polls underpinned sentiment while the ringgit advanced against the key currencies.

At 5pm, the KLCI was up 9.75 points or 0.56% to 1,765.80 – adding the 14 points from last Friday. Turnover rebounded to 3.66 billion shares valued at RM3.11bil. There were 559 gainers, 388 losers and 377 counters unchanged.

Stock market data showed foreign funds were net buyers on Tuesday with net buying rising to RM415.17mil while  local institutions were net sellers at RM347.11mil and retail investors at RM69.06mil.
