PETALING JAYA: Boustead Plantation Bhd has allocated RM58 million for capital expenditure (capex) this year, the bulk of which will go towards its replanting programme.

Vice chairman Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin said RM40 million would be allocated to replant 1,800ha of plantation nationwide, while the rest would be used for the construction of staff and workers quarters, as well as replacement and upgrade of plant and machinery.

"Year to date, we have replanted 30% of the areas. We are targeting to replant all those areas with new planting material," he told reporters after the company's AGM in Petaling Jaya on Wednesday. - Bernama
