Globetronics says MACC remanded independent director

KUALA LUMPUR: Globetronics Technology Bhd said on Friday the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has remanded its independent non-executive director Datuk Syed Mohamad Syed Murtaza.

The company said the remand was to facilitate and assist investigations currently being conducted by MACC.

“The company has no details of the nature of the investigations or their status,” it said.

Globetronics said since Syed Mohamad was an independent non-executive director, he was not involved in the day-to-day business and operation of group.

“The above-said remand will not have any impact on the business and operation of Globetronics Group of companies,” it said.
