Rakuten-Kenanga JV aims for profit in 3 years


Rakuten Securities Inc president Yuji Kusunoki says the firm will bring

KUALA LUMPUR: Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd’s joint venture (JV) with Rakuten Securities Inc to offer online stockbroking services which is awaiting final approvals from the Securities Commission, aims for profitability within the first three years.

The JV will see Rakuten Securities attempt to replicate the success of its fully-online platform, which is Japan’s most downloaded trading application, in Malaysia.
