KUALA LUMPUR: Construction firm Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd registered revenue and net profit of RM235.49mil and RM26.22mil respectively, for its fourth quarter ended December 31, 2016 (Q4FY16).
On a year-on-year basis, its full year revenue and net profit surged to RM805.37mil and RM99.97mil.
The stellar performance was mainly attributed to the consolidation of results derived from the newly acquired Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd and Permatang Bakti Sdn Bhd subsidiaries.
Speaking at a briefing today, Kerjaya Prospek executive chairman Datuk Tee Eng Ho said that the group had set an internal orderbook target of RM600mil in FY16, but managed to achieve total orderbook amounting to RM1.5bil.
“For FY17, we hope to secure an additional orderbook of RM800mil, from our tenderbook value of RM1.5bil.
“This year is expected to be a tough year for construction companies, due to low property sales, but sentiments are likely to improve in the fourth quarter of the year,” he said.
As of December 31, 2016, Kerjaya Prospek’s outstanding orderbook amounts to RM2.69bil.
