Iris Corp appoints Choong as acting CEO


KUALA LUMPUR: Iris Corp Bhd’s board has appointed Choong Choo Hock, the current chief operations officer of the trusted identification division, as acting chief executive officer (CEO).

The information technology solutions provider had announced last Friday that Choong was taking over the duties and responsibilities from deputy managing director Datuk Hamdan Mohd Hassan, who was being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission over an e-passport project in Guinea.

His executive powers are suspended, and his present duties and responsibilities as acting chief executive officer of Iris was taken over by Choong.

The Ace Market-listed company’s trusted identification division has been the biggest revenue contributor to the group, accounting for 66%, or RM342mil, of the revenue in the financial year ended March 31, 2016.
