MAA expects slight increase in car sales this year

SUBANG JAYA: The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) is projecting a paltry 1.7% year-on-year (y-o-y) total industry volume (TIV) growth to 590,000 units in 2017, following one of the worst performances last year.

MAA president Datuk Aishah Ahmad said the local automotive industry would continue to remain challenging, as conditions such as economic uncertainty, lower consumer spending and stringent hire-purchase loan approvals continue to persist.
