Visa payWave card transactions up 10 times

Ng: ‘This upward trend will continue to gain momentum as we expand Visa payWave acceptance in more merchant categories.’

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians handled more than one million Visa payWave contactless transactions in November, 10 times more from a year ago, according to Visa.

Visa country manager for Malaysia Ng Kong Boon believed that the growth was the result of increased Visa payWave cards issuance by banks and also retailers’ acceptance, spurred by the addition of new merchants in the “everyday” segment.
