International reserves stay at RM399.7bil despite outflow of funds

Lower reserves likely: Bank Negara headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia’s international reserves have been hovering around US97bil for about a year and it is expected to come down considering the outflow of funds from the region.

PETALING JAYA: Bank Negara’s international reserves remained unchanged at RM399.7bil, which is equivalent to US$96.4bil, as at Dec 15.

This is despite the continous outflow of funds in the bond market in November, causing the ringgit to come under pressure.
