THE recent Budget 2017 announcement saw our government’s effort in addressing the challenge close to the hearts of most Malaysians – the issue of affordable housing.
Based on the budget, there are few initiatives that will have direct impact on housing the nation. This includes My Beautiful New Home programme to build an initial 5,000 housing units priced between RM40,000 and RM50,000 per unit, amounting to RM200mil in funds. These units will be allocated for the bottom households with monthly income of RM3,900 and below.
