RHB eyes 35% jump in premier customers

KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Banking Group is expecting its premier customer base to increase by 35% by the end of the year following the launch of its enhanced RHB Now mobile banking application.

Speaking at the launch, RHB Bank Bhd group retail banking executive director U Chen Hock said the enhanced plan aims to offer more digital offerings and enrich the mobile banking experience of its growingbase of premier customers.

“This move is part of our digital strategy to cater to the growing number of digital banking users in Malaysia and to empower them with the convenience to do their banking while on the go.”

U said the bank was expecting a single-digit growth this year for its retail loans, similar to its growth in 2015, which was 6%. “We are expecting something similar in 2017.”

Meanwhile, he said the enhanced RHB Now mobile banking app offers its affluent customers fast and seamless financial and lifestyle experiences.

“In October, the mobile application saw more than 120,000 new downloads and more than 360,000 existing customers have upgraded to the latest version,” he said, adding its number of premier customers increased from 30,000 to 34,000 in July.

On top of the application’s current features, RHB Premier customers will obtain additional financial solutions and highlights such as access to daily market highlights and its messaging feature which allows customers to engage with RHB relationship managers.

RHB Premier customers will also receive push notifications, messages and updates on the bank’s latest events, deals and news through its lifestyle privileges feature.

“RHB Premier customers do not need to download two different apps. Instead, they can enjoy the convenience of a single login to access these attractive features,” U said.

To access the enhanced mobile application, RHB Premier customers will need to follow the current login process on the application and will be channelled to the RHB Premier landing page.

To become a premier customer, one must have a minimum of RM200,000 in deposits, investment or bancassurance within RHB Group and maintain a minimum of RM10,000 in either a current account or savings account with RHB Islamic or RHB Bank.

“Customers who fulfill these requirements will be offered premier status which comes with other privileges such as access to a dedicated relationship manager and RHB Premier Infinite Visa Credit and Debit Card.

“With this enhanced app, we aim to sign up a majority of our premier customers onto this new and exciting mobile platform,” he said, adding the application is available on Google Play store and Apple App store.
