Genting profit rises on cost-cutting initiatives

Lower revenue: Genting’s Resorts World Sentosa recorded a decline in revenue in the quarter under review from both the gaming and non-gaming attractions.

PETALING JAYA: Genting Bhd recorded a higher net profit for its third quarter ended Sept 30 to RM577.2mil from RM361.1mil a year ago, arising from the cost-efficiency initiatives implemented during the preceding quarter as well as lower impairment of trade receivables.

This was achieved on a marginally higher revenue of RM4.68bil against RM4.64bil in the same quarter last year.
