TOKYO: KKR & Co will acquire Calsonic Kansei Corp for 498.3 billion yen (US$4.5bil) from Nissan Motor Co and other shareholders as Japan’s second-biggest automaker looks to spin off less important businesses to focus on electric vehicles and self-driving cars.
KKR would pay 1,860 yen a share in a tender offer for Calsonic, the Saitama prefecture-based parts maker said in a statement. That’s a 28% premium above yesterday’s closing share price.
