UMW keen to embark on technology investment in North America via Spark Labs

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Holdings Bhd is keen to embark on technology investment in North America, through Spark Labs, which has just launched its second location in the heart of New York City’s “Silicon Alley”.

Spark Labs is one of New York’s fastest growing co-working communities and is now a global ecosystem built to fast track entrepreneurs in the US.

UMW Technology President Faizah Mohamed Amin said UMW was impressed with the holistic solution Spark Labs had created to foster global technology players entering the US via expansion in New York’s Silicon Alley.

“We look forward to aiding high growth technology companies through the Spark Labs ecosystem,” she said in a statement today.

Spark Labs has built a successful formula of community, support, benefits and events which has already helped dozens of technology and innovation companies to enter the US market.

With over US$40 million (US$1=RM4.17) raised by past and current cohort companies, Spark Labs is supported locally by Amazon, IBM, SalesForce for Startups, SendGrid, JustWorks,
Rubicon Ventures, White Star Capital, First Mark Capital, Eniac Ventures and KVB Partners.

The new Spark Labs ecosystem will allow more global startups currently operating outside of the US market to scale and make their mark in North America. - Bernama
