ISETAN The Japan Store opens in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Japan-based Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd has chosen Malaysia to open its second ISETAN The Japan Store in the world, after Paris, France.

Isetan Mitsukoshi Overseas Merchandising (Policy) Division General Manager Hajime Nakagawa said the company was optimistic the store would do well in Malaysia considering the country’s growing economy and population.

“Besides local people, we are also targeting tourists visiting the country,” he told reporters at the store launch in Lot 10 Shopping Mall, Bukit Bintang, here today.

ISETAN The Japan Store, a collaboration between Cool Japan Fund and Isetan Mitsukoshi, is a specialty store which offers Japanese lifestyle and aesthetical products to customers.

Nakagawa said the company aimed to deliver the ‘real Japan’ high-end items to its customers here given the growing interest in Japanese culture in this part of the world.

The store, which occupies six floors of Lot 10 Shopping Mall, offers high-quality products from more than 200 Japanese brands. - Bernama
