KUALA LUMPUR: A High Court in Chad has ruled that an Exxon Mobil Corp-led consortium, which includes Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), underpaid royalties and ordered Exxon to pay a record US$74bil (RM306.4bil) fine.
A Bloomberg report, citing a court document, said the High Court in the capital, N’Djamena, announced its ruling on Oct 5 in response to a Finance Ministry complaint that the consortium hadn’t met its tax obligations.
