Removal of excavated materials begins at Battersea

PETALING JAYA: Removal of excavated materials from Battersea Power Station’s main Energy Centre has begun, which will see two barge loads moved per day, equivalent to 120 lorry movements.

An estimated 180,000 tonnes of material swill be removed between now and summer 2017, saving over 16,000 lorry journeys between Battersea and locations in Essex such as Rainham, Pitsea or Tilbury, where the material will be recycled or reused for nature reserves reclamation.
