KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Dream, the inaugural ship under Genting Hong Kong Ltd’s Dream Cruises luxury cruise line, features a state-of-the-art LED lighting system that is expected to deliver breathtaking visual special effects.

Genting Hong Kong said in a statement that Genting Dream, which is scheduled to begin service on Nov 13 from its dual homeport of Hong Kong and Guangzhou, incorporated a sophisticated balcony-lighting system to deliver “breathtaking” visual special effects.

Dream Cruises president Thatcher Brown said the “highly innovative” lighting display system represented something new to the cruise industry.

“Dream Cruises prides itself in being at the forefront of luxury cruise experiences for its guests. Now we will also be revolutionising the way Dream Cruises and Genting Dream in particular will be appreciated by guests on board and by audiences on shore as she enters and leaves harbours across Asia,” he said.

The unique LED lighting devices were developed by Germany-based global technology solutions provider Wartsila Funa Group.

Prior to the stake disposal last month, Genting Malaysia Bhd had held 16.87% equity interest in Genting Hong Kong.
