HCK Capital to launch 9 projects with RM8b GDV

PETALING JAYA: Property developer, HCK Capital Group Bhd, is set to launch nine integrated development projects in the next three years, said group executive director Clifford Hii.

Hii said the projects, which will have a gross development value (GDV) of RM8 billion, will comprise residential, commercial and industrial lots.

The residential and commercial projects will be sited in Mount Kiara North (Kuala Lumpur), Matang (Kuching), Ipoh as well as Cyberjaya, Semenyih, Setia Alam and Sungai Buloh (Selangor), while the industrial lots project will be in Muara Tebas, Kuching.

"These projects are expected to boost HCK Capital's reputation and ambition to become a bigger player in the real estate industry," he told Bernama.

The company has a total landbank of over 80.94ha.

On another note, the chief operating officer of the properties division, Foong Peng Yew, said the development of the RM1.3 billion 'H Educity@Setia Alam' project was on track.

He said the 4.8ha mixed-development project would have 44 shoplots, 1,783 units of serviced suites and apartments as well as The Peninsula School, an Australian-based co-educational school.

Foong said it had partnered The Peninsula School as the latter offered a "Victorian Certificate of Education", which was a university entrance qualification  recognised by tertiary institutions worldwide.

"The commercial component, known as 'V-Sentral Hub', and the education component will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year and slated to be completed by end-2017.

"The residential units will be ready shortly after, starting with suites to cater largely to the boarding students and their parents," he said.

Foong said he was optimistic the project, which was close to present and upcoming development projects such as the light rail transit project, National Institute of Health and Setia City Mall, would attract buyers.

Moving forward, Foong said the company has earmarked several locations including Cyberjaya, Semenyih, Tebrau (Johor) and Ipoh for future development that has also an education component.

"We want to push the envelope of 'integrated development' with its stay, shop and study' concept. The institutional aspect of an 'Educity' remains a key driver of the township.

"Our immediate focus will be in Cyberjaya followed by Tebrau and Semenyih," he said, adding that University College of Medical Science has agreed to partner the company. - Bernama
