MyHSR to appoint Reference Design Consultants for HSR project

KUALA LUMPUR: MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd is to appoint Reference Design Consultants (RDCs) for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project.

It said the appointed RDCs are expected to provide consultancy services in areas of reference design for rail infrastructure components in Malaysia, interface management, stakeholder management, HSR project requirements and tender document preparation.

"The appointed RDCs are responsible for the preliminary design of infrastructure asset within Malaysia," it said in a statement on Wednesday. The infrastructure assets are stations, alignment, depot and maintenance bases.

MyHSR added that there would be five RDC work packages. Local and international firms are encouraged to participate.

The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR project was first announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Retreat in February 2013.

With terminus stations in Kuala Lumpur's Bandar Malaysia and Singapore's Jurong East, the HSR aims to cut travel time between the two cities to 90 minutes. - Bernama
