Malaysian palm oil futures edged up on Tuesday, coming off a more than one-week low hit earlier as higher overseas sales underpinned prices.

AMMB Q1 earnings at RM323m on lower net interest income: AMMB Holdings Bhd posted a 4.8% lower earnings of RM323mil in the first quarter, owing to a decline in net interest income, Islamic banking business and income from its insurance business. AMMB’s revenue was also lower at RM2.06bil from RM2.11bil a year ago. Earnings per share were 10.74 sen compared with 11.31 sen previously. — StarBiz

Maybank IB upgrades BFood but cautious on KRR’s earnings: Although Berjaya Food Bhd (BFood) has been upgraded to buy from hold, Maybank IB Research said it remains cautious on Kenny Rogers Roasters (KRR) earnings outlook. The research house says this was because the company’s KRR outlets in Malaysia and Indonesia continue to face challenges from soft consumer spending and stiff competition. — StarBiz
