OCK susp, possible news of purchase of firm with tower facilities

KUALA LUMPUR: OCK Group Bhd has requested for its shares to be temporarily halted from 2.30pm on Thursday ahead of an announcement which could be linked to a possible purchase of a company with tower facilities for mobile and broadbank operators.

At 12.30pm, OCT was unchanged at 82 sen. There were 87,400 shares done.

OCK's main business is to provide telecommunication services equipped with the ability to provide full turnkey services.

OCK had on Aug 2 said it was in the midst of negotiation to buy a company which is a tower facilities, utilities and communication network for mobile and broadband operators.

It also said more details would be announced when the negotiation was finalised and an agreement entered into.

OCK had issued the statement when it sought to deny an earlier news report that it was investing RM200mil to build telecommunication towers for lease to an operator in Vietnam and the deal is believed to be in the final stages of negotiation.
