Naim, Gamuda and Mudajaya bag Pan Borneo Highway jobs

KUALA LUMPUR: Naim Holdings Bhd, Gamuda Bhd, Mudajaya Bhd and Musyati Sdn Bhd have secured contracts totalling RM2.89bil for the Sarawak portion of the Pan Borneo Highway development and upgrading project, according to filings with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday.

Kuching-based Naim and Gamuda announced that Lebuhraya Borneo Utara Sdn Bhd, the project delivery partner for the toll-free highway project, had awarded the joint-venture (JV) between Naim’s unit Naim Engineering Sdn Bhd (70%) and Gamuda (30%) a RM1.57bil works package contract for the stretch from Pantu Junction to Batang Skrang, with a contract period of 51 months from the date of site possession.

Meanwhile, Mudajaya said that its JV with Kuching-based bumiputra contractor Musyati Sdn Bhd (70% stake) clinched the RM1.33bil contract for Sungai Kua bridge to Sungai Arip bridge.

It said the work was targeted to be fully completed by October 2020 with a construction period of 48 months from the date of the site possession.

Musyati’s high-profile projects previously included the upgrading of the Sibu and Sandakan Airports.

Naim shares shed 3 sen to close at RM1.91 on Thursday, while Gamuda shares lost 5 sen to RM4.82 and Mudajaya shares gained 1 sen to RM1.26.
