KLCI closes up 2pt on CIMB, Genting but BAT tumbles


KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB, Genting Bhd and Petronas Dagangan gave the FBM KLCI a much needed boost on Wednesday amid the weakening crude oil prices and a slide in the ringgit continued but BAT tumbled after its weak earnings.

At Bursa Malaysia, CIMB rose 11 sen RM4.29 and nudged the KLCI up 1.63 points, Public Bank and Hong Leong Bank gained 10 sen to RM19.60 and RM13.28, AmBank seven sen to RM4.36 while RHB Bank edged up one sen to RM5.17 but Maybank fell six sen to RM8.03.
