Malaysian interest rate could be cut in December: StanChart

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s benchmark interest rate will be maintained when policymakers meet on July 13 but a rate cut could come in September, says Standard Chartered Global Research (StanChart).

StanChart expects Bank Negara to maintain its overnight policy rate (OPR) at 3.25% and cut rates only in September.
