Ireka, Aeon call off plan to build RM203m Senawang shopping centre


KUALA LUMPUR: Ireka Corporation Bhd and  AEON Co. (M) Bhd have called off their plan to build a shopping centre in Senawang, Seremban.

The construction company said on Tuesday that conditions under the agreements could not be fulfilled within the period and the renewed period of 18 months since it was signed on Dec 26, 2014.

To recap, Ireka had signed a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with the landowner Ong Poh Lan to acquire 21.52 acres of land for RM21.87mil where it would build the centre.

Concurrently, Ireka also sgined an SPA with Aeon to dispose of 20.88 acres of the land, after obtaining approvals from the authorities, to build the centre. The land sale was for RM53.66mil.

Ireka also signed an agreement with Aeon where the former would build the shopping centre with a car park on the site with a maximum price of RM203.14mil.
