KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Capital Bhd (RHB Cap) has appointed RHB Bank chairman Tan Sri Azlan Zainol (pic) as its chairman effective June 14.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, RHB Cap said it had redesignated Azlan, 66, from director to non-executive chairman, succeeding Datuk Mohamed Khaidar Merican who retired on May 12.
Azlan has been chairman of RHB Bank, of which RHB Cap is the holding company, since 2005.
He came into RHB Bank as a board representative of the Employees Provident Fund Board (EPF), which is currently the largest shareholder in RHB Cap with a 41.7% stake. Azlan retired as EPF chief executive officer in April 2013.
Azlan has more than 29 years of experience in the financial services sector, having served as AmBank Bhd managing director and prior to that, as AmFinance Bhd managing director.
