Salcon wins RM232mil water treatment projects in Terengganu, Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: Salcon Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Bhd, has clinched two construction projects from Konsortium Amanie JV Sdn Bhd and Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB) worth RM232.19mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, Salcon said the RM217.67mil engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract from Konsortium Amanie was for building a 120 million-litres-per-day water treatment plant for the Kuala Terengganu Utara water supply scheme.

The project is expected to be completed in 35 months.

It said the PAAB project worth RM14.52mil was for upgrading the Sg Lebam water treatment plant and distribution system in Johor. The construction project has an eight-month duration.

Salcon said the projects were expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets of the group for this financial year ending Dec 31, 2016, as well as the followig three years.
