Trading ideas: IOI Corp, DneX, Pelangi, Puncak Niaga, HeiTech


KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects IOI Corp, DneX, Pelangi, Puncak Niaga and HeiTech Padu to be among the stocks to watch on Friday.

IOI Corp’s proposed purchase of a 50% stake in LCK Nutrition Ltd for US$25mil (RM93.5mil) has been called off.

DneX bagged a drilling equipment and services contract from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

Pelangi bagged a RM8.5mil textbook deal from the Ministry of Education (MoE).

Puncak Niaga signed an agreement with the government following its appointment as the operator of a water treatment plant in Beaufort, Sabah.

As for HeiTech Padu, it clinched a RM18.2mil contract to set up and manage information systems of the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB).

Aeon, HSL, Ta Ann, KPJ, Hap Seng, Tropicana, Perisai and MSM announced their corporate results on Thursday.     

JF Apex Research said US markets closed lower on rising increased possibility of an interest rate hike in June. European stocks tumbled over 1% after the Federal Reserve minutes of meeting suggests a rate hike in June if economic data continues to improve.
 
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI shed 1.96 points to 1,633.76. Following the bearish performance in the US and Europe, the KLCI is expected to be negative on Friday with support at 1,615.
