Oslo-based Telenor buys Malaysian money services firm


Telenor has a presence in 13 markets across Asia and Europe. The company entered Asia in 1996, and has since emerged as a leading regional mobile operator, adding more than 170 million subscribers in the past decade.

PETALING JAYA: Oslo-based Telenor Group, which is eyeing a stronger footing in the mobile financial services landscape, has acquired Prabhu Money Transfer Sdn Bhd, a licensed money services business based in Malaysia providing international remittance services.

Telenor would be acquiring the entire share capital in Prabhu.
