Datasonic bags RM260m MyKad contract from Home Ministry


KUALA LUMPUR: Datasonic Bhd's unit has secured a RM260.4mil contract from the Home Ministry to supply MyKad raw cards and consumables.

It said on Tuesday its unit Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd has accepted the letter of award from the minitsry to supply 12 million raw cards and consumables to National Registration Department for 40 months.

It said the contract will start on July 1 and end on Dec 31, 2019.

Datasonic Technologies will have to provide a performance bond for RM3.72mil to the Home Ministry, with validity period starting from July 1, 2016 to Dec 31, 2020.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings and net assets per share of Datasonic Group for the financial year ending March 31, 2017 and the financial years thereafter for the duration of the contract,” it said.
