Ho Hup gets RM58mil West Coast Highway sub-contract


KUALA LUMPUR: Ho Hup Construction Co Bhd has received a RM58mil sub-contract from Menuju Asas Sdn Bhd, the main contractor to the Public Works Department for the West Coast Expressway.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, Ho Hup said the sub-contract involved the building of bridges and structural works for the section of the highway stretching from Teluk Intan to Kampung Lekir in Perak. 

“The company will be responsible for all temporary works, piling works, sub-structure, super-structure and miscellaneous works related to the bridges.

“The duration of the sub-contract is about 24 months and is expected to commence on May 9, 2016,” it said.

Ho Hup said the sub-contract was expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

At the close on Tuesday, Ho Hup’s share price declined three sen to 84 sen with 892,700 units transacted. - Bernama
