Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Friday April 1

Profitable: Excluding the forex gain, IOI said the underlying pre-tax profit in Q2 was up 76% year-onyear at RM649.2mil on a 3.9% higher revenue of RM2.97bil.

Kuala Lumpur: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Friday April 1..

FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell for a second consecutive day on Thursday evening as a stronger
ringgit dragged the market down, outweighing an improvement in export demand.
* U.S. corn futures plunged more than 4 percent on Thursday in the market's steepest drop since
mid-August after the U.S. Agriculture Department forecast 2016 planted acreage well above trade
expectations.
*  Oil prices jumped more than 10 percent in March in the best quarter since mid-2015 although
some analysts said the rally could fade soon as an output freeze plan by major crude exporters
fails to alleviate worries of a glut.

MARKET NEWS
* Equity markets worldwide fell for the first time in four days on Thursday, the final day of a
roller-coaster first quarter that has hammered the dollar and the pound but helped gold and
bonds to big gains.
