MMHE chief financial officer Wan Mashitah picked as interim CEO

KUALA LUMPUR:  Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd's chief financial officer  Wan Mashitah Wan Abdullah Sani has been appointed as the interim chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from May 1.

The energy industry and marine solutions provider said on Wenesday the current CEO Datuk Abu Fitri Abdul Jalil will relinquish his position as managing director & CEO on April 30.

“In view of the current challenges of the oil and gas industry and pursuant to the group-wide transformation exercise being undertaken by Petronas, Abu Fitri has been called back into the service of Petronas,” it said.

MMHE said the board has initiated a search to identify a new MD/CEO of the company.

However, in the interim, Wan Mashitah will be the acting CEO.

Wan Mashitah joined MISC Bhd in 2002 and had served in various capacities before she was appointed as the CFO of MMHE on June 30, 2010.

“Wan Mashitah has extensive knowledge of and experience in the MMHE Group's business and is capable of providing leadership to the management team pending the appointment of a new MD/CEO of the company,” it said.
