MRT Corp awards RM370mil contracts for supply of box girders

KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded RM370mil contracts for the supply of segmented box girders to Kimlun Corp Bhd’s unit SPC Industries Sdn Bhd and Acre Works Sdn Bhd.

MRT Corp said in a statement that the box girders would be for the construction of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line.

The company, which took ownership of the Klang Valley MRT project from Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd in 2011, said the first work package worth RM199.9mil was given to SPC Industries.

The other work package worth RM170mil was given to Acre Works, whose executive chairman Datuk Idrose Mohamed was Prasarana’s former group managing director (2008-2010).
