TRC secures new RM178.2mil contracts from MRT Corp

KUALA LUMPUR: TRC Synergy Bhd, scheduled to finish a RM459.6mil job to build the Sungai Buloh maintenance depot and administration building this quarter, has secured new contracts from Mass Rapid Transit Corp Bhd (MRT Corp) worth RM178.2mil.

The construction and property development group told Bursa Malaysia that unit Trans Resources Corp Sdn Bhd had accepted a RM103.8mil job to build Pasar Seni Paid Link and associated works between Pasar Seni LRT station and Kuala Lumpur KTM station.

Trans Resources Corp also bagged a RM74.398mil deal for renovation and conservation works to Blocks A and C of Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. This involves relocating the Craft Museum, Karyaneka office, craft management office and the National Heritage Department office to Block C, relocating Karyaneka Craft Boutique and Souvenir Shops to Block A and relocating Craft Village and Artist Village to Dataran Underground.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, TRC said, the board expected the projects would contribute positively to the earnings and earnings per share of the TRC group in the future.

Besides the latest projects and the Sungai Buloh maintenance depot contract, TRC Synergy was also given a RM283.7mil contract by the Klang Valley MRT developer in 2012 to build elevated stations at Sungai Buloh, Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh and Kota Damansara.

TRC shares gained 2.5 sen to close at 50 sen on Monday, with 7.069 million shares changing hands.
